The barrier replacement on City Walls Road has been completed and lane closure is removed.

Today there will be lane closures on the city Walls Road (outside lanes in both directions) for excavating in preparation of the barrier replacements on the central reservation next week.

Due to adverse weather conditions, we are unable to carry out the laying of the red skid resistant dressing. This will now go ahead on Sunday 16:00-00:00 at the crossing point and at the City Walls Road end

 

Monday there will be lane closures for loop cutting on the junction of  City Walls Road, reinstating the road lining and continuing the excavation on city walls road.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement scheme

Today will be a continuation of this weeks work of raising ironworks and Carriageway Resurfacing throughout Lowesmore. There will be Temporary Traffic Lights in place on Pheasant Street at the junction of Lowesmore.

 

Due to delays in material delivery the programme for today is running approximately 90 minutes later than the time advised yesterday.

The final surface will be laid on the carriageway starting at Pheasant Street end working towards City Walls Road end.

Tomorrow we plan to lay the red skid resistant dressing to the crossing point and at the City Walls Road end, subject to weather conditions.

Today will be a continuation of this weeks work of raising ironworks and Carriageway Resurfacing throughout Lowesmore. There will be Temporary Traffic Lights in place on Pheasant Street at the junction of Lowesmore.

Tomorrow we plan to lay the final carriageway surface. We will start at Pheasant Street end at 7:30am. Between 7:30-9:30, all access/egress to the Wharf complex will be from City Walls Road end.

Between 9:30-10:30 no access/egress to the wharf complex will be permitted due to the surface being laid and being allowed to cool off before it can be taffiked.

After 10:30, access/egress to the Wharf complex will be via Pheasant Street whilst we resurface the remainder of Lowesmoor.

Today we will be installing the litter bins throughout Lowesmore and installing a new gully in Silver street outside the Co-Op Funeral Parlour.

Monday we will be commencing the Carriageway Resurfacing. There will be Temporary Traffic Lights in place on Pheasant Street at the junction of Lowesmore.

We will also be removing the safety barriers along the central reservation on City Walls Road. There will be a lane closure, on each side of the reservation for the duration.

Our works today consist of footway resurfacing at the Silver Street car park, as well as the private shop. For the works to take place by the car park, a lane closure is in place on City Walls Road; this lane closure will be removed before the end of the day.

Our schedule for Tuesday 27th August and Wednesday 28th August, is to plane off the footway surface along City Walls Road from the Corn Market to the traffic lights at Lowesmoor. The works being carried out today consist of planing off the footway surface around Silver Street car park. To allow these works to take place, Silver Street car park will be closed till midday. A lane closure will also be in place on City Walls Road, this closure will be removed before the end of the day.

The works scheduled for tomorrow will be to relay the footway surface course around Silver Street car park. We will not be closing the car park to vehicular traffic, however the lane closure on City Walls Road will be reinstated; again the lane closure will be removed before the end of the day.

On Thursday 15th August, we shall install the channel blocks across the second half of the entrance. By carrying out these works in two halves, we will maintain access for anybody wishing to enter or leave Asda by vehicle.

Our schedule of works for today is to completing the block paving and installation of the tactiles.

Monday we will be putting in 2 way temporary traffic lights at the pheasant street junction in order to excavate the island and lay base course and wearing course material. These lights will be removed on Tuesday.

 



Lowesmoor will be closed to traffic who wish to enter from City Walls Road end of Lowesmoor. All deliveries and access to Lowesmoor will have to follow a diversion route which will allow access from Pheasant Street. This closure will last for the whole of Phase 3 of the improvement works.

Our schedule of works for today is to continue block paving the footpath and to install a bollard outside Tillys.

Tomorrow we will be completing the block paving and installation of the tactiles.

 



Lowesmoor will be closed to traffic who wish to enter from City Walls Road end of Lowesmoor. All deliveries and access to Lowesmoor will have to follow a diversion route which will allow access from Pheasant Street. This closure will last for the whole of Phase 3 of the improvement works.
