Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Today we are completing the ducting on the road crossing into Queen Street. This will be carried out with one lane closed.
 
Tomorrow we plan to continue with the installation of ducting on the central reservation on City Walls Road. We will be installing three inspection chamber boxes.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Today we are installing ducting on City Walls Road as you turn right into Silver Street. It will be necessary to close the road whilst this work is being carried out.



Tomorrow we are completing the ducting on the road crossing into Queen Street.This will be carried out with one lane closed.

Today there will be a lane closure whilst we are installing ducting on the central reservation on City Walls Road, on the right hand side as you approach Lowesmoor.

Today between 9.30 and 15:30  we will continue with the installation of ducting from City Walls Road into Silver Street. The  road will need to be closed whilst this work is being carried out.

Today we will continue the installation of ducting at the top of City Walls road as you turn left into Queen Street at the crossing.  Half of the road will be closed whilst this work is being carried out. This is in readiness for the road crossing installation next week on City Walls road.
 
On Monday 28th January, 2013 we will carry on with the installation of ducting from City Walls road into Silver Street. The  road will need to be closed whilst this is being carried out.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Today we are completing the ducting from the cornmarket to the traffic lights (opposite AV Band). The access chamber is also being contructed at the top of city walls road as you turn into St Nicholas Street.



This is in readiness for the road crossing installation next week on city walls road.

Due to the current cold weather conditions improvement works on the Lowesmoor scheme are still being affected.

Today we plan to continue with the installation of the juncion boxes on the splitter island located at top of Lowesmoor juction.

The site office was delivered yesterday. Once the electrics have been installed for this the office will be opened to the public. We are expecting this to be by the end of this week

Due to the current cold weather conditions, improvements works on the Lowesmoor scheme has been affected and further works postponed.

We will continue to update this blog on a daily basis and will provide information as soon as we can, notifying as to when the works will recommence once the cold weather has started to clear.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Today we will complete the ducting in the footway 5 metres from the traffic light juncion (opposite AV Band). The loop box for the traffic lights and inspection box for the footway is also expected to be completed.

Yesterday we installed 30 Metres of ducting in the footway parallel with the toilets at the Cornmarket carpark.

Today we are installing a further 25 Metres of ducting  in the footway towards the traffic lights. An inspection box and loop box are also being installed in the road.

Yesterday we completed digging the trial holes to locate the underground services.

Today we are installing 30 Metres of ducting in the footway parallel with the toilets at the Cornmarket carpark.

Tomorrow we plan to install 30 Metres of ducting in the footway, inspection box and loop box in the road.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Today we are setting up a temporary site office on the carpark on City Walls road. This will be replaced on Wednesday with the permanant site office that will be in place for the duration of the works.

Later today we will be digging trail holes to locate the underground services.

Tomorrow we will start the excavations for the installation of the new ducting for the new traffic lights.  These works will commence by the Cornmeadow carpark and proceed towards the traffic lights at City Walls road.

Lowesmoor traffic signal, footway and carriageway improvement works

Improvement and maintenance works have been scheduled to be undertaken at Lowesmoor, these works are programmed to commence 14th January 2013 and will last for approximately three months.

The scheme, to lay traffic signal cable ducting, footway and carriageway works will be carried out in three phases. These phases are planned as follows:-

Phase 1 - Lowesmoor / City Walls Road
This phase involves the installation of new ducting for the traffic signals at the junction of Lowesmoor and City Walls Road.



Phase 2 - Lowesmoor / Pheasant Street
This phase involves the installation of new ducting for the traffic signals at the junction of Lowesmoor and Pheasant Street.



Phase 3 - Lowesmoor
This phase involves improvement works of the footway and carriageway along Lowesmoor.



Each day a Public Liaison Officer will visit site, they will be available to answer any queries that you may have. The Foreman, who will be based on site, will also be available to provide updates on the progress of the works plus answer any questions.
